Overview of Deepwater Pipeline Design
The seminar presents an overview of deepwater pipeline design. Among important
issues and challenges to be discussed includes to select the pipeline route, to ensure pipeline are strong enough to resist loadings (high external hydrostatic loading, high operating internal pressure and bending during installation), to protect the pipeline from corrosion, to control the lateral bucking as a result of high pressure and high temperature operating condition, to engineer a solution for a pipeline to cross an existing pipeline, and to ensure integrity of spanned pipeline. Understanding of these challenges helps to provide a fit-for-purpose design.
